Volunteer Opportunities

The success of LEAP Tampa Bay relies heavily on the leadership and collaboration of community volunteers and supporters.

There are many volunteer opportunities through LEAP partners including volunteering at a local school event, mentoring students at schools, or volunteering through a non-profit organization who focuses on youth education.

Here is a list of organizations who need volunteers that LEAP partners with. Most of these organizations have opportunities for high school students to volunteer. Please check the organizations website for specific requirements for volunteering.

These organizations welcome high school students and adult volunteers. Check each link for age requirements and parental consent details.

Feeding Tampa Bay

Individuals can volunteer at mobile food pantries, sort and pack food, and assist with distribution.

Metropolitan Ministries

This organization offers various volunteer roles, including working in the food pantry, thrift store, and with children’s programs. 

Habitat for Humanity

Individuals can participate in construction projects, helping to build and renovate homes. 

Ronald McDonald House

Volunteers can assist with various tasks, such as providing meals, serving as hospitality members, and helping with ESL classes. 

Humane Society of Tampa Bay

Volunteers can act as an extension of Humane Society staff, helping to care for thousands of animals every year.

Tampa Bay Watch

Volunteers of all ages from children to retirees help in habitat restoration projects, lend a hand at our annual fundraisers, and represent the organization at community events to increase awareness.

These opportunities are designed for adult volunteers. Some may involve mentoring or working directly with students.

Hillsborough County Public Schools

Volunteer to help in a classroom or work with a student one-on-one. Volunteer to work with students or provide a workshop in a SCOPE Center. Be a part of the Great American Teach-In each November.

Hillsborough Education Foundation

Volunteers can mentor a student or volunteer in the Teaching Tools Resource Center.

Pinellas County Schools

Volunteer to help in a classroom or work with a student one-on-one. Volunteer to work with students or provide a workshop in a SCOPE Center. Be a part of the Great American Teach-In each November.

Pinellas Education Foundation

Volunteers can mentor one-on-one, volunteer at Enterprise Village or Finance Park, review scholarship applications, or review scholarship applications.

Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay

Volunteer to work with students at JA Biztown, JA Finance Park, or at a 3DE High School.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay

Volunteer to mentor a student at a school/site or in the community.
