New LEAP Tampa Bay Web Site!

Welcome to our new site!

This site is just one of many exciting things happening in the Tampa Bay community around a movement to have more people get the education and training they need to succeed in the local workforce of today and the future.

The site’s launch coincides with LEAP Tampa Bay College Access Network’s Vision Council members signing a new Memorandum of Understanding for a “Re-Imagined” LEAP network that serves both Hillsborough and Pinellas County by bringing together leaders from business, education, government and non-profits to collaborate on strategies to give traditional and non-tradition students access to the education they desire, and support them successfully attaining their goals. This strengthens families and the talent available for our Tampa Bay workforce.

Working together with leaders from both counties will help us build upon these early successes:

  • Thanks to USAmeriBank Foundation, the Helios Education Foundation, and now the College Football Playoff Foundation and Tampa Bay Sports Commission, we’ve raised $1.8 million for scholarships to low-income students in the FUSE seamless transfer from a state college to University of South Florida program – and we have a $800,000 in matching challenge funds available going forward;
  • After helping schools make significant progress with financial aid applications last year, this school year we’ve already supported more than 50 school events with community volunteers to help students understand how to access federal and state financial aid;
  • We’ve built partnerships with approximately two dozen organizations in the community who are looking for ways their programs can fit together to help more people finish – or return to – school.

As one of 13 LCANs (local college access networks) in Florida, LEAP Tampa Bay is pleased to help community leaders leverage resources with mutually reinforcing activities, in pursuit of a common goal – 60% of adults with a college degree or credential by the year 2025.

Please enjoy this site to see how our network partners can help you, or how you can get involved.
