Three Tampa Bay area colleges – the University of Tampa, Hillsborough Community College and St. Petersburg College – are offering multiple “FAFSA completion scholarships” for Hillsborough and Pinellas high school students who have submitted their 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The scholarships will be awarded through drawings held in April. To be entered in the scholarship drawings, students must complete their FAFSA and submit an entry form (available from their school counselor) by March 31, 2019.
Eligible students will have an opportunity to be selected for one of the following scholarships:
- University of Tampa – Twelve $2,000 scholarships; eight for Hillsborough and four for Pinellas county high school students
- Hillsborough Community College – Eight $1,000 scholarships for Hillsborough county high school students
- St. Petersburg College – Four $500 scholarships for Pinellas county high school students
A student selected for a scholarship must earn and accept admission to the awarding school to receive the funds, which will be dispersed through the college’s regular financial aid process.
For help completing the FAFSA and entering the drawing, students should contact their school counselor. Many online resources are also available through LEAP to help you navigate the FAFSA process and learn about other financial aid opportunities.
