Getting Started
Helping your student access an affordable college experience starts with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). As a caring adult, you’ll need your own FSA ID to assist with the application.
The FAFSA determines your student’s Student Aid Index (SAI), which colleges use to build financial aid packages. A completed FAFSA gives access to:
- Grants
- Scholarships
- Federal Work-Study
- Student Loans
Make sure your student also completes the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) to qualify for state-based aid like the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
