Starting next year, students in Pinellas County Schools will have a new option for earning college credit while still in high school.
Earlier this month, the Pinellas County School Board approved a dual enrollment agreement with the University of Florida that allows high school juniors and seniors to earn college credit by taking online classes from the university. This will be the first time Pinellas students will have the opportunity to take dual enrollment classes from a university; currently, Pinellas County offers academic and career dual enrollment through St. Petersburg College and Pinellas Technical College.
Students will be able to apply this fall and begin classes in January 2020.
